knock sensor and coolant temp. sensor

knock sensor and coolant temp. sensor

hey guys,

my dads 96 maxima been showin a check engine light and i took it to the nissan dealer and they performed a diag. on it, and they found out that the knock sensor and the coolant temp. sensor is bad, does anyone have pictures of where either of those are located under the hood?... and a pic of each item? if possible?.... i would greatly app. it.

To find the coolant temp. sensor, follow the upper radiator hose toward the engine. You will see two sensors close to the engine end of the hose. The closest one to the hose is the Dashboard Coolant Temp. Guage probe. The one closer to the engine is what you want to change. I recommend you remove the complete intake assemply and maybe even the battery so you have more room to work with. It's as simple as unscrewing the old one, and screwing the new one back in. Hope that helps.
