Hyperwhites and Plasmawhites will never give off as much light as a high quality Halogen bulb, they may look cool - but will always be weaker and will not perform well in the rain. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the rice lights and use regular halogens until you can afford HID's.

i've tried many different brands of bulbs and have consistently gone back to my piaa sw's. they're not as white as some of the other brands but they light up the road sufficiently.

If the serach feature was up, you'd see that the best bulb for your dollar are the Philips BlueVisions. However, I recently found some new Philips bulbs in a Strauss Auto...they are labeled to be 30% brighter than the normal bulbs.
