anyone have car cover?
anyone have car cover?
well i'm moving to beach house on a island for school, so i'm wondering if i should invest in a car cover. do any of you use one or recomend it? how much did it cost and where do you guys think is the best place to buy one? i'm thinking it could be worth it but i figured i'd ask on here what you all thought first. thanx
i would get a car cover. it protects your car from crap and hides it from nosey/thiefing people. just buy one off ebay or something, probably the cheapest price you'll get. just make sure it will fit a max, if not u might do sumtin stupid sorta like buying a twin sized sheet for a king sized bed. i doubt you will get a lot of posts on this topic but i figured y not.
I've used car covers on my Maxima ... in fact, I have two.
My old car cover was all weather, somewhat reflective. Thing that sucked was that whenever water collected underneath it during the winter time, it would freeze to the paint & I'd have to wait for it to thaw. Also, it wasn't 'cloth / felt' lined on the inside & I wanted to pamper my car.
So I bought another cover. Now, I have two. I'll probably sell the old one to to my friend for cheap.

Instead of Ebay, check around at your local stores (Target, K-Mart, Walmart, etc).
The amount you pay in shipping will offset the state taxes. And it'll give you a chance to see & feel the cover before you buy it.
Get one that's breathable, fabric lined and good for all season (including winter if you think you'll need it). Get bottom tie-downs (reinforced eyelets) with an elastic bottom or the wind will blow the cover right off. Get one with the trunk lid loop/lock, so you can secure it to the car through the trunk-lid. Helps keep it down and avoids someone from taking it off unless they cut the straps off.
Adding on to what EyeCMaxBatty said, don't put the cover on if your car is dirty or dusty. Doing this is like rubbing sand in to your paint.
