water spots on windshield?
water spots on windshield?
hey guys quick question.
when ever it rains and i use my wipers i tend to see water spots and it kind of creates a haze in which it is difficult to see out of teh windshield especially at nite.
does anyone know what causes this to happen and how i may go about correcting it? perhaps i just need new wipers?
Thanks

If the glass isn't smooth to the touch, just use a mild-to-medium glass polish.
I've tried all kinds of products such as ammonia, Invisible glass, windex, elbow grease, etc.. and nothing worked. Finally, I bought some FINE Hand Glass Polish from Griots' Garage and it worked. It was a pain in the azz though and next time I'd go with the more abrasive regular polish vs. the fine.

I use Duragloss Nu-glass for water spots. Like IceY2k1 did, I tried every glass cleaning product I could find. Even use the green scratch pad things with different products, but none worked until the Duragloss. It's a glass polish specifically made to remove water spots, tree sap, etc... from glass. You can find it online at www.brandsupermall.com/nuglass (toll free 1-866-498-3448). Or, like I did, at a local glass specialty shop.

Once spotless, use some Rain X on all your windows to help prevent any spots from coming back. Works wonders for me (still spot free 2 years after my ordeal with water spots)!
Anytime you put anything on your glass, make sure you buff it off completely. This is so you don't have any glare or haze that can be a safety issue.
