Fuel pressure question

I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge yesterday and @ WOT with the 8:1 fmu I was at 95 PSI.

I switched to the 6:1 fmu, thanks erik , I am now @ 85 PSI @ wot boosting 7-8 psi.

I am a little worried I may be lean, my egt's went up to 750 @ redline in 3rd gear

Any thoughts?

I still say that you are fine Bags. With your stock FP being so high with the Walbro, I say that you are fine......

I'm puzzled why you're still getting 85 psi at 7-8 psi with the 6:1. 8 psi times 6 gives 48, plus half your base fuel pressure should give you around 65-68, depending on what your base fuel pressure is. I was seeing 65 psi at 8-9 psi with the 6:1 and I'm getting 85 psi now with the 8:1. I'm running with the Walbro and no aux pump, like you.

750C is 1382F, so you're definitely not lean, maybe a little rich (depends on where you're egt probe is) which is consistent with your high fuel pressure.

well my idle FP was 45-50 psi.

And my probe is at the end of my y-pipe right before the turbo, I should really dyno with an A/F meter to se where it is lean or rich and then judge from there.

I want to be rich, that makes me feel better lol

EGT~ If you are runing lean, you will see the EGT goes up really fast, it will hit 800C before you pulled to redline. IMO, EGT is not too accurate to measure if a car is running rich/lean....just something to tell you when to let go the pedal.

you are supposed to get 75psi with the 6:1. But 85psi sounds good to me. I plan to get that bleeder valve and an adjustable FPR to avoid maxxing out the injectors. I called Vortech today, they dont have the bleeder valve in stock.

Any plans on getting an adjustable FPR to lower your base FP?
