Indiglo Gauge Wiring f*ck-up...help!

I just got done installing some indiglo gauges, and i messed up the wiring...the gauges light up full only when the dimmer **** is turned down all the way, so all the other interior dash lights are out when the gauges are on (no matter that I broke the temp & speed gauges )

So did i tap into the wrong dimmer wire (there were 3, incl. ground, going into the switch)? The wire I spliced into was red/yellow; there was another one that was red/blue. or did i screw up somewhere else?

check ur fuse first, then take out all the wires and do them again. get instructions from maximadriver.com if u havne't done so. make sure use electric tape.

ur interior lights should turn dimmer when u turn on ur corner light and ur headlight. tat's normal. but it shouldn't go out. so it's definetly a fuse problem.

good luck and post some pix when ur done

i think you misunderstood...the dimmer works exactly as it should for the interior dash lights EXCEPT for the new gauges; the dimmer causes the reverse for the gauges: they light up fully ONLY when the dimmer is turned down, so somewhere in the process i got some wires crossed up.

I know what happened. You are suppose to tap into the blue wire not the other ones. I went through the same thing... the temp and fuel gauge needles are probably stuck...it happened to me. I just used some hot glue on the edges to hold the new face flush. If your fuel gauge is still not accurate than you probably moved the needle beyond the full mark. To fix this move it under the empty mark and it should be ok...i hope i answered ur questions.

you're probably right...i'll mess with it tomorrow. yeah, the temp gauge won't go beyond full cold, but will drop past that when the ignition is off; the fuel gauge might be stuck...don't know yet, but the speedo is the one that's gonna bother me; it's starting at 15mph at idle, so i gotta remember how fast i'm really going. thanks.
