My 2003 SE TE (auto) vs. new 350Z

I was driving around on Friday eve and I drove up next to a brand new blue 350Z... young guy driving it... just washed the Max, and he and I exchanged 'the look' and I just had to try.

The result wasn't as bad as I thought... he won (of course), but I was only about 3 feet off of his rear bumper the whole time... not bad for an automatic, eh?

And if he had an auto I can see this being the case.
If he had a manual and only had just over a car length on your auto Max, he absolutely stinks at driving, or wasn't giving it full steam.
My guess is he had an auto, and if it was one of the heavier (non base) versions, they're probably only a couple tenths quicker in the 0-60 times.
This would make your "race" about right.
