Nissan F.A.S.T. CD

I just purchased the Nissan F.A.S.T. Electronic Parts CD set. I installed it but it will not run properly. Has anyone out there used on of these ? I am running Win98.

i am willing to bet that this program has dll files and api calls that only relate to Windows XP or Windows 2000..

as said before.. browse the CD to see if they have a Win9X folder..

the way how microsoft is.. they really don't care about your feelings.. they want you to upgrade

Yes, I have this CD as well. I won it off of Ebay a while back. I'm running Windows ME. I had installed it from the RUN command. It seemed to install correctly, but I had no clue on how to retrieve the diagrams. The help topics on this CD doesn't help either.

If It's giving you the "NO CD FOUND" Error, it's because the guy that burned the CD put the actual CD 1 directory down on the CD.

So for Setting the CD Drive, don't set it to "D:\", but Set it to D:\NISSANFAST" <Or whatever it is>

I have the CD, and that's what I had to do to get it to work.

I'd look at what exactly the directory is, but I'm in Safe Mode right now running Virus Scan, and don't have access to my CD-ROM right now.

The Not Found problem was just what Iansw said, the path to the CD needed to be d:\nissan~1 instead of d:\ (which is of course what the default is). However, I now have Mixxmax's problem, it runs but the diagrams get garbled when they are displayed. It looks like what happens when you set your system to use the wrong video card, horizontal lines across the image. I have never seen an "application" do this before. Very strange. Tried changing displays resolution and refresh freq but it did not make a difference. If I make it work I will post a reply.

And for those interested, I bought it over E-Bay from "Alvin Lee" <tsukuba55sec@yahoo.com> for about $10 + shipping. All Nissan's thru 01/2001 are covered. This is NOT a service CD, just a parts list blowout.

FAST CD issue resolved

So here is the scoop. I run a Toshiba laptop connected to a docking station with a 21" monitor. If I run F.A.S.T. in that configuration it does not display the parts illustration correctly. If I undock my system, which does change the display configuration, it works just fine. Has to do with the application not knowing what the refresh rate is.

NP. Did it help you? You can also try cross-referencing parts. I know some of my altima buddies are trying to see if some suspension stuff from 240sx will work for them. It's a good place to start.
