VIDEO: HlH Maxima vs RX7

Sorry if you all are getting sick of these

run vs a very heavily mod'd single-turbo conversion '94 RX7 on interstate

I finally found someone whose exhaust is louder than my personal setup! The run is in 4th gear.. he gets a little jump and I had a little trouble at first...but then I doubled the boost and sprayed it

My car: I was running 13.75psi and nitrous was jetted ~20shot more than I had it on my recent dyno. So how much power? You can guess as to how much 3.75psi MORE boost and ~20shot MORE nitrous would make above my previous dyno of 456whp 456wtq @ 10psi...

His car: made 402rwhp BEFORE doing maany of his mods, including his front mount, boost controller, fuel computer, etc.. so it is respectable. And BEAUTIFULlllll !

High Quality (640x480 = 4.8megs)

Normal Quality (320x240 = 1.3megs)

Hope you enjoyed.

OH, and his car is for sale on eBay right now. RX7 on eBay. You can go there to see what he has on it, etc. His reserve is $25,000 and I can attest to how beautiful this car truly is!

the much louder exhaust you are hearing is HIS... mine is the second/quieter to come in as i play catchup , and you can hear when he lets off after i pass him.

oh and pardon my yelling friend, that was the first time he had felt nitrous+high-boost in my car

iceY2k: i have a little footage of just us cruising around at first, but no more racing footage his branch off of the freeway was only a few miles ahead and about selling...!

ladeesman: LINK to GSR run

I should be hopping back on the dyno in the next couple of days to see what numbers I can make now.. and of course I will see what kind of stuff I can get on camera too in the not so distant future.

Hal, are you still running 240 cc/min injectors? What fuel pressure are you punishing those poor injectors with to get to 450 hp?

1fstmax: I have complete exhaust in the garage here and my car currently is setup sounding much dif. than it did out there (not raspy)

You all can hear the difference between his LOUD rx7 with full exhaust vs my maxima in THIS VIDEO of us cruising and him taking off.. you again hear him first, and my car quieter when he lets off.. (0.2mb)

happyrice: haha good idea.. wouldn't go to jail too fast...

95maxrider + lunchbox: windows media player 9. icey2k provided the link

audtatious: If my new wheels+slicks arrive by then. if not, i'm temp. finished with the track on street tires.. hopefully yes. If not, I will still bring the car out, but I doubt to race.

blu: i will be dynoing to redline as i have done before. the one run where i let out early is of course the one i wish i hadnt only question is to dyno 13... 14.. 15psi?

stephen max: yes I am on stock injectors (2xx's).. and fuel pressure is a little high.. higher than what most consider safe. i have a little trouble on the high end (5900+rpm) when running high boost (15psi). Wish I had the money to upgrade fuel to how I'd like it, but too many things to pay for right now including tuition etc.

I can NOT believe your stock 240cc injectors are providing enough fuel.

What nitrous setup you got, wet I assume?

You think you don't have the money now...just wait until one of those injectors stick and the $600 or so for 300Z injectors will seem like peanuts.

Labor swapping manifolds/sensors and replacing fluids is not worth that route IMO.

Plus, you know he's going to blow a "new" one, with the power levels he's running and stock injectors.

If he can get engines so cheap, he should be able to find 300Z injectors cheaper too.

Low mileage VQ30DE engines I've found are $600ish PLUS $200+ shipping.

Personally, I would rather be out tuning the car then swapping in a new motor along with all the work that goes with it.

Unless, I had my own shop with all the tools I could want and that's all I did all day.

Yeah but still its a pain in the @ss to do that, He had/has 3 VQs sitting but even if you were in a shop its hard to do this considering the fact its gonna be tying up a host for X amount of hrs when you could be doing several jobs in that time period making money instead... It does become easier every time you do it but the time is still gonna be there regardless. I would love to spend time on a VQ and build it from top to bottom and hit it with 16+ psi Unfourtunetly I dont have that kind of time on my hands.

The Z injectors should pop right in, what kind is mardi running?
