i have a court date for loud exhast. got pulled ova for reckless/loud exhast. waiting for my court hearing now. what do i do. if the exhast illegal???? i was talking 2 someone at the police station and hes like (when u get your court hearing bring proof its legal)?? i have a greddy muffler sp muffler. its really not that loud. it was intake make all the noise lol.

Read up on your local vehicle laws and consult a lawyer if necessary.

 

ha this happened to me. he said it "sounded like i was driving fast"

same **** happened 2 me, i put the stock muffler back on, basically all those straight mufflers are off road use, so it is illegal, too loud noise pollution, nothing is legal anymore..

 

Do you just have an SP Greddy muffler or the cat-back exhaust?

If you have the cat-back, bring in the paperwork/sticker stating that it is compliant of the 95db sound ordinances...

 

i do have a cat-back but its warpspeed piping and a greddy muffler i didn't get no papers with my exhast how do i get some.

 

it says greddy on your exhaust or TRUST so take a picture of that along with papers from Greddy's website saying that it is 50 state legal. If they hassle you anymore tell them to take it up with Greddy. Bring in your latest inspection papers too if you had it tested after installing all your aftermarket stuff.

How are Harley's legal then?! Those things are way louder than most aftermarket exhausts. Some dude down the street has one and seems to run most of his errands at night when I'm conveniently trying to sleep. I don't hear of Harley's getting pulled over for being too loud. Is there a different law for motorcycles?
