Gauge rings installed. Hard for this rookie.
Gauge rings installed. Hard for this rookie.
Granted this was my first major modification requiring me to disassemble the dash, but it was a pain in the ***. I know I must have screwed up somewhere because taking off the black part in front of the gauges w/ 'firm but consistent' pressure was way harder than I thought. Then I get the cluster out, getting the clear plastic off was hard as **** too. Then the glue that came with my rings had dried up in the bottle so it was useless. I bust out some 2 part epoxy and install the rings no problem. THEN.........I put the clear plastic cover back on and turn it over to click it in too place and one ring falls out!!!!!!!!!
I was soooooo ****ed. So disassemble it again re- glue it and let it dry longer this time. Reinstall the cluster everythings fine.
Now the good part!!!! They look frkn awesome. At night the gauges reflect in the inner circle of the ring and it adds so much depth to the cluster. I have black/black leather w/aluminum dask kit and razo shift **** and pedals and it totally ties the whole look together. Highly recommended cosmetic mod. If I can do it anyone can, believe me.
BTW I got mine from the group deal a while back for $33 shipped, got them in 4 days. BUT..... the rings were not a perfect snug fit, a little play on two of them. And the glue they sent with it dried out within 2 weeks. So install them fast if you get them, or get some other adhesive.
