STOCK Alarm System.

Hey there everyone. I think most of you know by now that im a new maxima owner and have been asking lots of questions. So I better throw one more at you anyways

I had a question about my alarm system. I cant tell if it is working right or not! I press the blue key on the remote, the doors are locked right after and blah blah. the red light in the car starts flashin once every 3 seconds BUT no matter what i do, i cant get the alarm to go off.

I kick the tires, pull on door handles, push the car, shake the car, play with the hood/trunk and no matter what i do, the alarm doesnt go off. How can i know if the alarm system is working right? and i think the stuck alarm is not enough to stop thiefts, you guys think i should upgrade my alarm? if so, what brand should i get (if any) and what should i look for?

the stock alarm doesnt have a shock sensor, so you cannot make it go off with kicking or moving or even braking the glass. It will only go off if the hood, doors or the trunk lid is opened! I think someone had a article on how to installing a shock sensor into the stock alarm. You can either do that or get a after market alarm installed which will work hand to hand with the factory alarm, thats what i did.

this is how you check. roll down ur front window. lock the car with your remote, now unlock you door manually. your alarm should go off.

hacim105, Oh that worked

I guess I need to purchase a shock sensor in that case because it is much better. Is there anything special I should look for when purchasing one? and how much should i expect to pay bro's ?

doesnt matter what kinda alarm you have. If your car is hot and a pro wants to steal it, it will be stolen even with a viper alarm. They just tow the car and the alarm automatically stops working when the car is tilted 45 degrees. Even the lo Jack dont work cause there is a machine you can buy that tells you where the lo jack is install. Once they remove it you car is there's. Just get full coverage on your car and let the insurance company worry about it

True. But we want to stop all the "kids". I have a lockpick set and I can get my Maxima open with my jugglers and started in a minute... So If you have a set of picks and know what you are doing it will be ripped off no doubt. But keep in mind you want to scare the people away, n00bz... ya feel me?
