13 - 02 Map/Baro SW Solenoid Valve CEL??
13 - 02 Map/Baro SW Solenoid Valve CEL??
Any idea why my car might be throwing this code. I accidently knocked off the vacuum line to this sensor I think when doing some things with fuel lines, and had placed it back on correctly, but can't get rid of this damn code. Also ran an egr and running rich code, both of which went away upon putting the line back on.
Car also ran fine, as I dyno-tuned it tonight for the first time. Any clues.. could it possibly just be the boost is throwing it off?

If you have a FSM, check pages EC 277-282 (for the '97 FSM).
Check: harness and connectors (MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve is open or shorted), hoses (clogged or disconnected), Absolute pressure sensor, and MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve.
There's a way to check the solenoid valve by applying 12v to valve, then checking for air passage continuity through ports A-B, and A-C (+ to terminal 1, - to 2).
Also, engine at idle speed and operating temp, the vacuum hose (single hose) should read approx -20.8 inHg.
Check for battery voltage between terminal 2 of harness and ground with ignition "on" (terminal 2 is on the right when looking at pins with harness locking tab pointing up).
There is a 10amp fuse somewhere (according to FSM), I just can't find which one right now.
If you need pages scanned, email or PM me.

***this is thebigsadler posting under this name***
i had my mechanic at nissan fax me all of the pages you are referring, but right now it seems as those all connections are secure and it's getting plenty of power and vacuum.
i still can't tell if it just has tripped the light and now is seeing boost and thinks it's not reconnected?

Could one of the vacuum lines be pinched somewhere? You said you're getting vacuum, so I'm assuming you're meaning the vacuum source (hose by itself on bottom). What about the other 2? Just wondering about one of them being pinched because you've been doing some additions. Or possibly sliced somewhere.
Have you checked the solenoid itself? It's on page EC 282. This is the one where you connect 12v to pin 1 and ground pin 2, and check for air passage continuity between port A-B and A-C.
Hope you get this figured out soon.

thanks for all of your help dave, i will continue to check for pinched lines or things that look out of line, if i cant find anything the car is going to nissan for new axles on monday since both my boots are destroyed and i have a coolant leak.
