Routing speaker wire from cabin to door on 5th gen

Is it possible to do run one through the existing wiring in the door through the molex connector, or do i have to create a new hole for this in my door and cabin?

thanks

Yeah, I tried to run speaker wire thru the doors, but it seemed nearly impossible because there is a bolt you must unscrew to remove the grommet. It is nearly impossible, unless you remove the whole door from the car! So, in avoiding this, I just used the existing speaker wires from the Bose speakers that I removed. Since they were already routed thru the door, I just tapped into the wires. It took some time though, because following the wire, the colors changed at the plug, which was hard to get to. I used a multi-meter to test for Ohms and continuity.

I did this. It was definately a pain in the a$$. I got the bolt off and it's a plastic connector with all the pins for the power equipment. The only possible way to do this I found was that I had to come through my engine bay then through the fender and then into the rubber leading into the door. I used some wire loom to make it look neat. Doesn't look too bad, I only notice it because I did it. I had to get a wire into the door because I have seperates with X-overs which can't get wet. I mounted the crossovers in the trunk and ran the wires through the engine bay no problems. I ran a 4 conducter 16 gauge wire to power both woofer and tweeter. Definately run the 4 conductor if your install is similar.

Drill your own holes right below the existing wire harness. Poke a small hole in the existing wiring harness going into the door. Wrap with split loom and elec tape. Looks like factory, no problems with the door opening and closing. Hope this helps. If not, check out Goldmembers home page or www.dndautosound.com. We did it to his also.
