i think this i30 i am looking at has tranny problems
i am looking at a silver 2000 i30t with 76k miles for $14,000. the outside is perfect, inside is kinda dirty and one of the rear speakers or amps is blown.
the car seems to slip from 1-2 and or 2-3 upshifts. anyone experience this, know what it is, how muchs it is to fix. should i buy this car?
thanks,
brendan

the owner probably didnt take it in for the service bulletins regarding the new Transmission Control Module and Soleniods. They will very likely stop the slip (if too much damage hasnt been done). The cost of the (out of warranty) TCM and Solenoids is pretty high. At least $500 before labor I would think. Probably 1-2 hours of labor.

that is a tranny problems. I had the same problem in my max before the tranny went... It just went one night going to reverse in my driveway and BOOM .... NO reverse, took it to the dealer the next day and they told me tranny gone... So i think its not a wise decision to buy unless u have the extra cash to have the tranny replaced.
