awww, dude, what happened?!! Did you hit the Cutlass or the minivan? Not much damage to the Buick. Fix or total?

Sorry.

Like someone said before, our Maximas seem to have targets on them. I had my Max for only two months before I was backed into TWICE by two different pick-up trucks on two different occasions.

Geez, it's no wonder why my insurance is so high. Do paint chips make Maximas invisible?

I know how it feels to be in a lot of accidents in a short span of time. In my last car, I t-boned a lady that ran a stop sign. It was in the shop for 2 months. The day after I got it back I hit a dog. A month after I got it back from the shop for that one I got rear ended.

I traded that car - I'm convinced it too had the paint chip invisibility thing.

Did you use insurance to pay for the previous damage?

Sorry to see that your Max got some unwanted sheetmetal work again! At least you guys are ok. This should do wonders for your resale value!

basically everything in the front of the car needs to be replaced with the exception of my engine and how my cai made it out without a scratch....i have no idea. i know for a fact i need:

r fender
l fender
hood
radiator support beam
bumper
grill
r hid headlamp
l hid head lamp
pass. air bag
driver air bag
r fog lamp
new clear corners (ordered)
plug for sidemarker
radiator fans (tabs broke off on impact-radiator never leaked)
and all the frame work that supports the bumpers, hood, fenders.

i'll have to keep it (owe too much)....i barely bought the car in feb.. and the Nissan Body shop assured me it will be perfect,he said they use all new genuine nissan parts. and anything in question is replaced. so all i can do is hope.

Is the HID still working? You might be able to grab the ballasts and bulbs and rig it into your fogs or something

I'm amazed your windshield didn't go. My girl has wrecked her 200sx both times and the damned airbags busted the windshield both times. That's 2 large right there. Sorry to hear about it, at least you and your wife are fine.

Just got word from the bodyshop that they are 99% sure my car is totaled.

the preliminary estimate they currently have is up to 15,600.00 and that doesnt include clips/bolts and other parts they "may" or "may not" be able to use...she said it will easily cruise up another 6-800 bucks which puts the car at 80% damage. so with this is mind im going ahead with the fact that it's pretty much a total loss.

i will know for sure on tuesday. wouldt you know...3 day holiday when my cars judgement is at stake.

i'll prolly end up with the Toyota Matrix Xrs...only because my gf works at toyota, and gets a killer deal on them.
I hate the camry...and the avalon is an old ladies car. Celica is impracticle (we have a child) and we cant afford another maxima. we got ours right when the 04's where commin out and nissan was giving them away....i cant even get a 3.5 altima for what i paid for the maxima.

so i guess the lower payment will be nice...and the matrix isnt that bad. i will definately get another maxima...probably when my lease is up on the spec V and i will keep visiting here and see whats crackin with the maxima from time to time.

Well guys wish me luck and thanks to everyone who helped out with questions/comments and support thru the whole 6 mo experience owning a 5th gen.

Thanks,
Brian

Ps...
I have brand new in the box gr2's an injen intake (used one week) and clear corners with polarg m4s im gonna be selling. email me for info.

I'm an auto insurance claim rep. When I saw the pics I was saying to myself "Total loss". Knowing what the value of the car is, there is no way that much damage would be repairable. I actually work in the total loss unit, so I'm pretty used to seeing that kinda stuff. Sorry about that, man. I hope you are able to replace it with something you will enjoy. Let us all know.

Sorry about the loss. Glad both of you are OK. Since the prices of Maxima's have fallen since Feb, you may be surprised at what a low-mileage used Max will run ya. Keep looking and stay in the Maxima family...

I will NEVER drive another silver car again. Ever. My 2001 Accord was silver and I had problems with idiots not seeing me all the time. I had to run with my hi-beam lights on during the day. I have not had nearly as many problems with my black Maxima in the same area. All I can conclude is that the more your car contrasts with the road, the better.

sorry bout all your accidents.
