I always see people say that getting a short shifter will cause your shifts to become rougher. I don't see why. Assuming you are decent with clutchwork it shouldn't make a difference right?

 

when people say rougher shifts, they mean moving the shift lever around. since you are moving it a smaller distance, you must exert more force to get it into gear.

 

Yep, you've got less leverage therefore it takes a lot more force to shift the gears. You also get more vibration thru the shifter and getting hung up on the shift gates is a common problem.

yea it not really that bad.. some people say the pacesetter is hard to shift, and its a definetely notchier than stock, but i'm used to it, and since the throws are shorter i dont feel like i'm rowing a boat anymore

 

its not that bad.people are just being picky.i like the sts feel much better than stock.. doesnt feel and cheap and flimsy.
