Aluminum Flywheel and Short Throw Shifter
Aluminum Flywheel and Short Throw Shifter
Does any HP gains come from either the aluminum flywheel or short throw shifter? What does a flywheel do?
Also, what do you guys think i will run at the track in the fall given good weather conditions. 1/4 tank of gas. Sub, pass. seat, and spare removed. I have Greddy catback Exhaust, DMS UDP, and K&N panel filter with the GAB. I also have a 5 speed manual with 18" moda R6 wheels.
Thanks

I don't think the short throw shifter gives you more power, it makes the shifts quicker. When your racing this is more conviant I guess, I have no experience with these... but sportier cars always have the short shifters. The flywheel is behind your clutch and it attaches to the crank. It uses momment of inertia properties (i learned a touch about it in physics, but I'm not quiet sure what that means with the performance)
I suppose a lighter flywheel will spin quicker at the same torque your heavier stock wheel spins. This may help get more power to the wheels. I know people usually get them when they get a higher performance clutch.

Sorry, i didn't really mean HP gains by the STS, I should of been more specific. What I meant to ask is Will it lower 1/4 mile times.?
