15.7 for a '03 auto Max?

I'm a first timer at the track, i have a bone stock '03 auto w/ cai. I ran 5 times and got 15.7 best (1/4 mile). Temperature was at 95-102 degrees w/ 5mph head wind. I ran against a wrx and he ran 14.1. Is 15.7 horrible? I thought my ride was lagging a bit. I wasnt sure if it was my ride or the hot temperature.

Yeah, you need to give us some additional details. Bone stock motor gave me a best of 14.908 also. 460' elevation and 70-ish degrees. IMO, track is horrible

Those are horrible conditions to run in for one, but those times arent good especially with a CAI. Wait unitl the temp gets better, look at my sig thats what my 03 totally stock ran but it was 80 degrees that day. Its been 100 or so here in Dallas for weeks and I can see the difference the heat and humidity are robbing my Max and 350 of power, both of us notice it.

My best time was 15.7 in my '01 auto with Frankencar intake. You should be able to do better than this with an '03.

Thats real bad. I ran at 1500 feet in 90 degree weather last time with 600 + lbs of audio last time, and I was at 15.1 - 15.3 all day . Thats with my 19's spinin all through first gear.

it might have been a bad track with no traction, and bro it was hot as hell, u should trap in that heat at about 92 or 93 mph...

thats fukken crazy!! that is one uphill track....that could easily be the reason, combined with the temp and elevation. are you sure the track raises 80 feet by the finish line?

Well, first off, those times are bad for an 03 Max auto.

However, in those conditions, and considering it was your first time, I'd say, that's not too bad.

Next, if that track raises 80 feet in a 1/4 mile, I'd question who they hired to survey that track, was he/she a licensed surveyor or a high school student.
They should be as level as possible. A 10 feet increase would be acceptable but still not great.

In any case, running at 100 degrees at 1121 feet in elevation, with a 5 mph headwind, and being your first time at the track, yeah, I'd say, even if you perfected your launch, you'd be lucky to get better than a 15.4 in those conditions.

With no wind, and on a 70 degree day, you'd of probably of gotten a 15.3 with just that. Dropping yourself down to 15.0 with some experience.

If that track truly does raise 80 feet, I'd suggest two things:
1. Never go to that track again.
2. Don't tell anybody about your 15.7 time under those conditions.

My bad guys...i read their website wrong...it didnt raise 80ft. it was level at 1121ft in elevation. Track was somewhat slippery. It was a real hot 100 degree day w/ 5mph head wind. Everyone there did worse than their avgerage times. I spun out on the get go everytime...in fact, nobody did a perfect launch that day dued to the track condition. I ran a STI and it ran 14.1 sec.

yeah, my 02 ran 14.6 bone stock too--I ran 14.7 with my intake and 14.6 with a higher trap when I took it off--Houston Raceway Park is pretty level though--IMHO he should be able to pull 14s at a different track

Man thats low wait for better conditions(IN better conditions you might run as good as some of us running 14.6-14.8 stock trapping from 92-94 mph), 89 is barely higher than some stock 95-01 autos.
