14.32 @ 80

I ran this yesterday in brackets. I was so far ahead I nailed the brakes at around 1000ft so I wouldn't break out. I was hot lapping 14.2's @ 96 all day and this run my car sat for over an hour. Anybody have an idea what I could have possibly ran if I would have stayed on it. My cars top end was struggling and I believe it was the 18's and humidity b/c it rained right before the event. I was trapping 78 in the 1/8 also. My car normally gains 19-21 mph in the last 1/8 depending on if Im hot lapping or not. My car has never struggled in the last 1/8 so Im thinking it was the hot lapping and larger wheels causing it.

Weather conditions where 75 degrees and high humidity

14.1@97mph maybe. Slamming the brakes at the very end doesn't do much, but kill your MPH. By the time you hit the brakes you were probably already at 1100-1200' because you're covering so much ground in such a little amount of time.

You could easily determine your 1/4 ET/MPH by just comparing your 1/8 ET/MPH to your 1/8s. The VQ is very consistent and there's no skill involved after the first 1/8 mile.

I know my car felt like it was hauling *** that run. Funny thing is I had the worse 60' of the day @ 2.26 and I believe my 1/8 mile trap was around 78.9 but I will look when I get home. I could tell I got a little more pull top end that run b/c my car felt like complete *** on the heat soaked runs.

Your car is fast. Was that on street tires? If so, those 60 ft times are awesome.

I bracket race almost every weekend that they have a race. I keep a log book and whenever I have a run that I hit my brakes on, I just look at my logbook and find a 1000' time that's identical, then I know exactly what I would have ran.

By looking at your time and mph, it looks like you crammed your brakes within the last 100 feet, which won't change a thing by more than a hundredth.

But, there are times that I have my opponent beat by so much, I will hit my brakes as soon as I pass him and I can have a trap speed of 72 instead of 87mph.

Matt, what happened in that bracket race? It sounds like you won the first round. What happened after that?

*edit* I'm sorry, I just realized the title of the thread. Now I know that you had a trap speed of 80mph. Your trap speed was 17mph slower than normal. I'd say you would have ran an ET of 14.15.

You must have had your opponent beat by a MILE to decrease your trap speed by 17mph.

yes I got too the second round when the rain came. It is rescheduled for this Saturday at 7pm. The guy I ran had a 1.8 r/t lol so thats why I had so much time too romp on the brakes at the end. I actually enguaged the abs b/c my car felt unusually quick and I didnt want too break out and lose the chance at $250. I'll let yall know how I do Sat night when I get back

Sweet!

The worst light my opponent has ever cut against me was a 10 second Supra that was sitting at the start just spooling up. He cut a 2.5 RT. I hadhim beat by probably an 1/8 mile, so I just slowed down a little just to make sure I wouldn't brake out. Then, after the traps, he flies by me at 120mph and lets off the throttle... PSSSSTTTT! Very loud! It was fun. BTW, he wasn't there to bracket race, I just got lucky to be paired up with him in the 1st round.

Muwahaha! That's right Matt. Same for me in higher elevation. I'm planning on giving my NC record a run in this altitude.

SWEET! That is some SICK NA Auto times. And here I am expecting 14.8s in Fontana, Cali this Nov. Atleast that would mean I can do 14.5 in NC if I go back.

Keep representing those NC NA Autos!!! I know I sold out.

hey blubyu2k2, i remember u havin one of the fastest autos, and ur best on slicks were like 13.6 13.7? and on street tires 14.2?

u plan to try to squeeze high 13s w/out slicks but with the headers sometime on street tires?

and i thought headers would help more than 2 tenths of a second.....?
