What else can I do?
What else can I do?
Just want to run this by the "professionals" here for your comments. I'm trying to compare multiple trips to the strip to see if my '02-Auto is running "appropriately". First, a side-by-side comaprison (same track @ 460' elevation, both times appx 5gal of gas and spare tire was in the car. Tranny was in "3" during both times):
Car condition....
March: Open airbox, eibach springs, RE92's w/28k miles
Aug: Injen intake, Warpspeed Y+B pipes, Eibachs, RE92's w/41k miles
Between March and Aug I have performed some performance upgrades. Other than more miles on the RE92's, both times were at appx 25psi. March run consisted of torque braking to 1500PRM and getting on it which did cause wheelspin through some of 1st gear. Sept run-1 was torque braked to 1500RPM and launched the same as March which did cause wheelspin through 1st gear and, what seemed to be, into 2nd. Run-2 was also at appx 1500RPM and I rolled the pedal into the launch, but it induced wheelhop which caused me to lift in the 1st 60'.
Track conditions were bad since they had pro-street cars laying down lots of rubber. That and the fact that my RE92's have 41k helped initiate the horrid wheelspin. Past the 1st 8th, the car simply seemed to stop accelerating very quickly during both visits.
Now, with the above laid out, should I have expected better times than I achieved in March? Did the higher temps and higher humidity negate the performance mods I have added? When comparing March vs. Sept run-1, the stock March run is .084 quicker in the upper 1/8th mile with nothing more than the airbox being opened (top removed with filter "loose"). There is also a speed difference of 1.88mph overall.
I know the tires have to be replaced with something better. Better launches will give me a lower 60' time = lower 1/4 time = somewhat higher trap speed. I'm just having problems correlating the differences between the two strip appearances vs. the performance mods added..
Thanks!!!

something just doesn't seem right b/c I have the same exact mods and my track elevation is 400'. Your car is really falling on its face after the 1/8 mile only gain 17mph. Only thing i can think of is check the flex section of the y pipe. You should be running mid 14's @ 94-95 with those mods in cool weather.
