03 Max SE 6 Speed vs Mercedes ML 500

Just about an hour ago I was on the Garden State Parkway in NJ. I was doing about 80mph when a Black Mercedes ML 500 tinted out pulled up on me. Well we both pulled into a toll booth ( EZ Pass ) side by side. I shifted and he took off. I thought this SUV would blow me away but no!! I shifted from 2nd to 3rd and then to 4th going about 115mph and well we were side by side the whole way. Just wanted to say to everyone that I freakin love my Max!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was the ML 500 , the reason I know it was that I had to slow down to get off an exit ramp and saw it go by. The 3 guys in the ML 500 just looked at me and drove on!

An ML-55 is only a high 14 second truck. You should pull any of those on the highway. I used to be rediculously into racing SUV's. I had a 5.9 grand cherokee that ran 14.3. Hell my amazing 94 mph trap would have gotten me walked by a stock maxima.

Try racing the FX45... those things are quick... I was in one all night and its initial torque is incredible! but on the hwy the max just smokes it

it was for sure the ML55 because you would blow away the ML500, they're heavy and the engine is just too weak for them to keep up with the VQ35

Not all SUV's are slow, I'd personally like to see people take on one of these and win.

- Mercedes ML55 AMG
- BMW X5 4.6is
- Porsche Caynon with Turbo (Even the non turbo one's are freaking fast)

I agree with you, hence why I sold my Jeep. They are capable though. I'd say on the strip my 14.3 would have me beat many cars on this site.

dude im talking about any suv in general, people just dont buy those suv's for the sole purpose of racing them, they buy them because they have the $$ and they want the BEST of the BEST no expence spared, for those who actually go to the track.. its usually the cars anyways those are like 60K+ cars especially the CAYENNE "caynon" ? - anyways, compare the price, a stock ls1 " corvette engine - transam, z28, ss, ws6 " would murder them and you can have one for 15-20k

Yup, most SUV drivers have some serious atittude problem (Especially one's with V8 or bigger engines) I know you are talking about SUV's in general, and I agree.

P.S. I knew I miss spelled it~

Yeah you should have pulled away from that guy... My friend has a 2001 CLK430 and we were side by side on the Highway, and I know the CLK would pull on a ML 500 any day.
