Safest Intake... scared after searching
I am interested in an intake and exhaust to free up a few hp. I will deal with the intake first. I have read current posts and done some searching and am a bit leary after reading. I have a 2000 SE with 43.5K for reference purposes. I don't want to blow my MAF sensor! Ive read that the weapon R has the tendency of blowing the MAF, the frankencar (or however its spelled) is effective and seems to be more common but there is still the blown MAF. There were a few Injen and Cattman stories but not enough info for me to stay good/bad. I did not read much about MAF's going bad with the bone stock intakes, but could that be wrong?
To summarize- w/o blowing the MAF, which intake would be best? Also do the MAF's tend to go bad in stock intakes just as easy as the aftermarket ones?
I know there have been a bagillion (new word for me) topics on intakes but maybe this one can put all the topics into one when it comes the the blown MAF sensor dilema.
Thanks

I too have had two different aftermarket intakes on my 2K1 without any problems after aprox 70K. I had a Stillen for about a year and now an Injen for about 10 months, I now have a monsterflow filter on the injen.
