Nissan service depts noting mods on service history??

Hey guys...I was checkin out the Infiniti I30/I35 forums (bored I guess) and came across this thread. I don't know if its been posted in the Max forums or not.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=247791

After reading thru the Max forums, I'm well aware of Org member's experiences w/ Nissan service depts. Has anyone experienced this with Nissan service depts?? If Infiniti is doin, I'm sure Nissan's doing the same thing.

Is this f***** up or what!!

I know that if they deny warranty work because of a mod, they have to prove that the mod caused the failure. But, this is kind of f***** up...don't u think??

I'm not siding with the dealers (god knows i've got enough reasons of my own to pi$$ on Nissan service), but does this really surprise you?

They're a business trying to stay profitable. and when someone brings their car in all modded up (nitrous, turbos, whatever) and then later on they blow their engine, then revert their parts back to stock and take it back to the dealer and say "REPLACE MY ENGINE FOR FREE"...why wouldn't the dealer try to cover it's a$$ by noting that the car had all kinds of go fast mods on it last time it was seen?

Yeah i hear people crying about the law that says the dealer has to PROVE that the mod caused the problem, but I haven't seen a dealer yet who is afraid of that law. They can afford more lawyers than you or i.

I'd think they were stupid if they weren't making notes of any mods on our cars.
