Clutch - Keep my Sachs or get OEM
Hey guys, i am replacing my 5 speed manual (again!!!), with a fully rebuilt LSD Tranny from Phoniex Hardparts (ebay - $795). I changed my tranny last summer and at that time I decided to replace the clutch. I ended up buying a Sachs clutch and it was awesome for a couple of months. I would get chirp in 2nd and rarily 3rd. I was overall happy with the performance. However now that the pending tranny swaps looms, i am wondering if i should change my clutch again. As it stands right now, when i shift from 1st to 2nd i get a good amount of drag. It will seem to hold 1st for a bit and gradually go into 2nd. Forget about 3rd gear chirp. I have put on about 15k miles or so since last summer and I never ever want to drop this tranny again, for ANYTHING!!!. My car has 175K on it right now and I am really debating on getting an OEM Clutch (no boost or any outrageoust mods). I know to stay clear of key value parts, but do you guys thing i should change the clutch. Can i get the pressure plate and just use the oem disc??? Let me know what you think, and if you now of any cheap places to buy the oem parts. TIA.
Can i just change the disc with a nissan OEM disk or do i have to change the pressure plate also, this clutch only had about 15K miles or so, or should i change the whole set.
P.S. Does anyone know the part numbers for the OEM Clutch (not the key value stuff).
