Just curious, weighing my options.

It's fine as long as you leave the kit stock, and don't add more boost or other things.
I've had mine on for nearly 8 months now, V1, 3.00" pulley and almost 0 problems. The only problem I had was 6 ohms of resistance through the ground wiring, which sent my auto transmission into a shifting gobbledegook frenzy. I believe however that the SC kit had little affect on the ground wiring however, so as far as reliability goes, the cars been perfect.

This is my opinion about the kit, it is reliable as long as you change the plastic pullies to metal ones and you get the proper fitting stand off bolts which will keep the plate aligned. My experience with my V2 kit has been wonderful. I had no problems with my kit, I drove from Marietta to Camp Lejeune and back and had no problems what so ever. I also drove from Marietta to New Orleans and had no problems at all. If you install it correctly your fine.
I gotta agree with ereet and Jay25...
Change out the plastic pullies, be **** about the install (grinding and alignment when applicable with the smaller S/C pullies) and you should be fine. Oh yeah, don't drive like an idiot and your tranny will survive too even with an ACT clutch.
I've had ZERO problems even with the 3.12 pulley.

I haven't been driving as many miles as I was driving previously. This was my first winter with my 18" rims and needless to say, I took the lazy way out and opted not to drive rather than change the tires.
All in all, I've put in a little over 10k miles on it since I've gotten it. The engine had a little over 100k miles when I originally installed it. So again, as far as reliability goes, even old engines can do well on a lot of boost

I had belt alignment problem before and it was fixed. So far, no major problem **knock on wood**
my max is daily driven and I will be celebrating the 1st anniversary of boosting on Oct 13...I put 14k of boost miles onto the car.

what a waste of salt youll be fine if it has not shredded it wont you have a good kit bottom line
