Which y-pipe has better ground clearance, Budget or WSP?

I bought a budget y-pipe back in early summer and i had nothing but problems with it. It never sounded right, it wasnt a bees in a can or a drone, but it was more of a hiss or ticking sound. Everything was bolted up as tight as it could be so i eventually got wrap and wrapped the flex section which helped tremendously. I was under the impression that budget had fixed their flex noise issues but i guess not.

But anyways I was at Ocean City, NJ at the end of summer and i drove over a raised manhole and i assumed it put a hole in the pipe near the flex (where it hangs the lowest) cause its been droning ever since. I'm on sprints and i cleared it with my stock bumper but i still hit the pipe. I was wondering if budget pipes hang low or are WSP and all the rest the same?

I need to order a new one in the next couple days so it will be waiting for me when i get home to install. Is WSP worth the extra $ in noise/clearance issues? Or did i just get a bad pipe from Budget?

I just got my Budget Y installed and I haven't experienced any ticking , but I do get the hissing sound when i punch it real hard sometimes. Does anyone know Is the hissing sound normal or something I should look to correct?

Alright, thats what i was wondering. Since someone else has had noise problems with the flex in the budget i assume its not just mine. Should i get a WSP instead of a budget? Thanks guys

I have my Budget Y installed about a year ago. No ticking sound what so ever. However, I distinctively remembered the hissing sound in the first few months - fairly noticeable at low speed when the windows are open. When I accelerate, the wind noise will usually drown it out. Interestingly, I do not hear it anymore these days!! May be I have got use to it (it was never that loud to begin with). I believe the hissing is normal because my car has been working fine since the installation (one year now).

got budget y-pipe about a year ago. had no bees-in-the-can. after car accident, i replace my stock ones back on. i'm planning to get warpspeed cuz budget takes too long to ship. warpspeed always have their y-pipe on ebay for $199 firm.

all y-pipe are the same and serves same function.

Hangers don't hold up the pipe, so that's not it. They only keep it from going side to side...

So can anyone verify that WSP doesn't have the hiss that Budget pipes do? I still have wrap leftover so I'm gonna wrap it regardless.

The hiss sound you hear is the pipe without the precats. This will be the case for all aftermarket y pipes, stillen, cattman, budget, warpspeed, etc...

I have the WSP non-mandrel y-pipe which comes with a lined flex section. It does hiss at around 5000rpms till 7000rpms at WOT. The hiss isn't near as bad as my old Stillen y-pipe pipe though.

As for clearance, yes the Budget seems to sit lower. My WSP sits slightly above engine crossmember where as the Budget I installed a few weeks back on a 99 SE sat slightly below the crossmember.

Humm I have had My stillen about 2 months. I never Heard any bees in a can.... Do you owen one, or you just saying that because you don't like Stillen. I am not saying Stillen is the shi2t. It could be that the way they installed your Stillen(if you have one). Installation is Important, also you should use the Nissan Gasket Rings which came with the Stillen package....

My Stillen Y-pipe hissed horribly. The flex section eventually blew and I sold the pipe for cheap.

?

i have the warpspeed aluminzed mandrel bent y pipe. it would be almost impossible to say there was any kind of clearance issue with mine. perfect direct fit - just like stock y pipe

the b pipe hangs lower but never had a moments trouble out of it.

hiss... ? what hiss ? maybe im hard of hearing !! honestly i dont recall a hiss but i had a y pipe, bpipe and muffler installed the same day.
