14.22 to a 13.60 ?!

Went from a 14.22 personal best to a 13.60 today by adding the following: Slicks and a bottle warmer.

Boy! You guys wern't lying when you all said I should see 13's with slicks. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=246846
I can't believe the difference!

Here are the numbers:

60' 1.968
mid 8.66 @ 78.81
1/4 13.604 @ 98.9

That was my first run of the day... I botched the launches on the other two... I think I could have done a little bit better given more practice with the slicks.

Mods:
Basically removed the interior (left the dash and one seat). Emptied the trunk.
5 gals of 92 in tank
MT 24.5x8, 15 on 24lb steels
50 shot
y-pipe
b-pipe
hi flow cat
intake

Normally I'd just post this in the timeslips forum.... but my first one that I posted 2 weeks ago has not been approved yet. So I thought, what the heck.

So where does this put me on the list?

I told ya so.

How were you launching? You can probably count on your 60' times going down even more. I bet once you get used to slicks you will be cutting 1.85s average and running 13.4-13.5 in similar weather conditions. Slicks pwn.

Nice work!

Be sure to post a separate thread for your timeslip here and then we'll move it into the moderated section. The queue is broke after the VB upgrade so this is our workaround. See the sticky at the top of the forum.

I want to get slicks, what size would be best for a 75 shot?

The pros could probably give you better info but I chose mine because they are pretty wide yet give me roughly the same diameter as stock wheels (14.5). If anything, I would have gone smaller since I am shifting to 4th anyways. But I wanted as tall of a sidewall as possible to get a large contact patch. It's a trade-off. I went for traction...

Thanks. Yeah, that time was waaay better than I expected. $/hp, nitrous is the best initial deal for more power. Though, I have dumped well over $300 into bottle refills since May. So it does get expensive later.
