2003 SE Maxima for $23,500 is it worth it?

My friend is selling his 2003 SE black Maxima for $23,500 because he just got a kid. I hate mixing business with friends, but is that a good price. He says it is a 2003 with 10k miles and it has the Titanium Edition Package. I am not sure what that entails, but it does have a 6-cd changer, sunroof, spoiler, fogs, keyless entry and H.I.D.s. He also got the extended 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty. It does not have leather, i do not mind. Is this a good deal? He treats the car like his baby, the car has gone through the 2k break-in period just fine. It has never been in an accident and it is in immaculate condition. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

BTW he says he paid $26,500 for it new out the door

Most 03's selling for those prices are previous rentals with 25-30k miles on them and donot have the Titanium package. I have seen 03's from personal sellers selling from 21-23k around here with 3-7k on the odometer.

Don't forget to check for check for hood shudder, warped rotors, dimly lit SES, windows leaks, self-reversing power windows, paint chips (black SE!) and blown MAF. For another $5,000 I'd buy a new BMW sedan.

I picked up my 25k mi 02 SE for $16,900 about 6 months ago. Doesn't have all of the fancy stuff but I'm cool with that.

Dave
02 Maxima SE just turned 39k tonight!

Go check out Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Spring, MD and ask for Jay Lee. I got my new 03 SE off their website for 22,168. Tell him that Kirk from Gettysburg told you to call. Let me know how it goes.

You got a 02 for 21.5 which is now about 2 years old considering the 02 came out late 2001. And a 03 for 23K is a bad price???

yeah but a 03 in 03 for 23K with 10K miles, Indash changer and TE Edition is ok. maybe swing him for 21K but 19-20K is Low Balling the seller.

The BRAND NEW 03's have 2500$ now cash back on them so dealers can get rid of them. If he does his research and finds a new model, he will end up paying the same $ for a no miles car rather than having a 10k mile car.

rental companies only get GXE w/C&C or basic SEs, and only automatics. If you see a Maxima w/BOSE, leather, and auto climate control, be assured it was not a rental.

IF He can Find one. Hell I had to Fly 900 miles to another city, Buy the car and then drive back. There are no 6spd anywhere to be found where I live. And if they were, the prices are sky High.

Yea but he still bought his brand new and the 2k3 is used there is a big difference. I would pick the 2k2 with 0 miles over a 2k3 with 10k any day

For 21.5 when you know as soon as you drive that car off the lot its worth 18K

Atleast the 2003 will be worth more money even with 10K miles on it.

I wouldnt be so sure now that the 04 came out the price for both 2k2 and 2k3 will be pretty similar depending on how many miles u have on the car

Igor, let me stop here man, I'm going against one of my own rules. I'm picking on a owners car here in a serious manner. I joke around with some guys but this is getting serious. The deal you made on your car is none of my business.. Sorry for any comments I've made. Its a good buy to you and its your car Not something for me to Object on.

6 speeds are much harder to come by, so Igor got a decent deal.

Regarding the 2K3, I would say it is worth about $21K.

Also, rental companies only got SEs for 2K2-2K3. GXEs were very rare. So, if you see a stripped SE for sale fairly cheap, chances are it was a rental.

My brand-new 2k3 SE with 28 miles, leather and a sunroof cost me $23,500. I'd be surprised if you can't find a better deal somewhere.

Great Price

No matter what anyone tells you thats a great price for a loaded Maxima SE. I doubt you can get any loaded one a 2003 for 19,000 - 20,000. I just can't believe that. I would go for it and enjoy the car. I love my 2003 maxima SE 6 speed and I paid 23,900 for it with 4000 miles on it.

Well the 2k3 should have sold for 23-25K new with those options after rebates/haggling, etc. So 21-22 is not out of the question.

There is a used 6 spd at Route 22 Nissan in Hillside, NJ. All I know is that it's a sterling mist with black cloth.

Their number is (908) 9648700

bottom line, $23.5 for a used 2k3 is way too much. If this is your close friend, then tell him you can afford to spend only $20 grand, so his car may not be right for you..Cmon, thats what the car is worth.
