Thats just....beyond my comprehension about how a 3.0L V6 on STOCK internals can handle that much power. How the F? I don't care if its a VQ, its STOCK internals!? Please tell me you got it on video?

Also, bump up the PSI a couple notches and get to 500whp. That will be incredible. I'm not so sure this little V6 can last too long with that much brute power running through its veins.

Yes videos arent uploaded yet, I dont have time right now -

I made a clean pull this time and its much smoother and looks good, lottts of area under the curve haha I'll get the graph up if I come back later tonight

yes still stock internals, stock injectors, and it's been taking it and loving it for a little while now with no trouble knock on wood.

I intended to dyno 13-14psi today, but only purchased 3 pulls and my first two I used to check a/f, so #3 I went into blind and dynoed at 10psi.

FINALLY BOUGHT SLICKS!!!!!!! so we'll see what I can do when they come in - hopefully on the 12th.

What was the shot? Stock MAF and ECU too? Do you have a J&S or S-AFC? Is the MEVI on this block?

With that kind of power, you should be faster than Mardigrasmax, I'd say mid-low 11's with slicks @13psi.

you surpassed the 350HP, torque mark, thats excellent and great and you proven it racing some of these fast cars but whats your fuel set up?

I can believe you can go 10PSI possibly up to 59K with stock injectors with MEVI, your using a wet kit spraying plenty of fuel thru the throttle body? is that your set up? I am trying to make sense out of this?

I think his fuel setup is the usual FMU/Walbro everyone else has.

I think the only way nothing's blown up yet is that he's using a wet kit with the FMU. As boost rises, so does fuel pressure, and consequently the amount of fuel sprayed through the nitrous setup. Can't really tune it though which would explain the crazy A/F ratios Hal talks about.

I would love to see the dyno charts though. video doesn't mean anything, it's not like you can tell the hp of the car just by what it looks like on the dyno.

Stock maf and stock ecu. No J&S, No SAFC or any similar electronics

Jay25: I am using a wet kit, so that takes care of itself. And at the track I have to take the car to redline in 4th gear (to keep from shifting to 5th) so it will go up there (at barely under 14:1af). For normal racing and dyno I dont see the point of stressing it , when the power is there in the next gear too. oh that built Z28 I ran last week, made 520whp and 590tq with a mild tune a couple hours before I pulled, so we may have to meet up again. I'm still curious to see the ATL scene sometime!

too many.. but none that can not be explained (18psi, etc)

i calmed down a little bit now though -
10-14psi that is not overly lean and keepin a good idea what a/f is when I change stuff

What is your a/f ratio? How much PSI are you runnging through those stock injectors?

I was pushing about 110psi at 325hp with a 12.2 a/f. I guess I didn't need to upgrade to the 370cc.

The wet kit makes using the stock injectors possible.

Hal, you are leading the way in probing the limits of the VQ. Good job.

Didn't SteveChicagoSC also have a wet kit?

A/F was around 13 for most of the sweep, I have found before that it rises just a little more above 6000 so I stay away from there most of time unless I'm on the track in 4th gear haha.

Yes, using a wet kit means that the injectors still only have to support the 10-14psi that I am getting from the turbo, not the additional power from nitrous.

And I have not checked my fuel pressure in a while, last time I looked it was over 100 - guess it doesn't hurt to check

Stephen: thanks, I am actually pretty happy to say (and dont want to jinx myself) but this setup has been running like an absolute champ! still reading great compression on the motor, and you know it is getting used. daily to school and work, nightly for play. woo

Why don't the two curves cross at 5250?

Also, got any 10psi dynos withOUT nitrous?

You jump up 150+lb-ft torque in ~100rpm when you hit the nitrous. You have to be running 100-shot or more.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The torque and hp curves have different scales (the 400 hp line corresponds to the 450 ft-lb line) so that shifts the crossover point.

Thanks...but WHY would you mess with them if they are similar?

I don't know. Seems unnatural to me, too. I've seen it done on other dyno plots, though, so it's not entirely uncommon.

that's exactly right, the scales. You will notice TQ is on a 550max scale, and HP is on 500max. that shifts the tq line up from what it appears on that graph.

ICEy2k: I'm not saying what shot, but keep in mind the boost and nitrous both come in extremely fast when using a small turbo and nitrous to jump it alive instantly.. it's not as much as you may think

yes and I was actually wondering, dont people notice a little dip in their lines when the MEVI turns on? I finally got it switched, and it is set to 5200rpm - but I didnt see much of a dip or anything there?
