Well I finally took my car to Nissan today and sure enough I was right. The rear motor mount was busted. I kind of suspected this ever since 2 Fridays ago when I left from my first time drag racing and noticed that every time I moved forward or backward I could hear a banging noise. Anyway Nissan replaced for it free of course because it's under warranty. Well I guess this was the car gods way of teaching me a lesson on why not to race or why it would be wise to invest in some better motor mounts if I plan to race again. I think at least for awhile I'll take the it easy and just drive my car and not race it.

 

That's only because Nissan chose to use JELLO for the center part of the mount. It's VERY common according to DAVEB to replace that mount.

Windoweld it and you'll never break it again. I think that's the best compromise between vibration and strength vs. the PR mounts.

 

I tried to look for a how to thread for windo welding mine. What would you suggest doing, all of them or just the front and rear (by the radiator and firewall). Do you have a link on the how to for this

how do you know its a motor mount?

Whenever I brake hard or even under moderate braking, sometimes 60% of the time I will hear and feel a thump. Something is leading me to think its the suspension, but i know thats good as gold.

What are symptoms of bad motor mounts?

Try to spin your tires and if it does this, along with your dash vibrating itself onto your lap you need new ones

 

And also when leaving from a dead stop, you can feel/hear a bang.

Well,I think something was wrong with my Max too,since last Sunday after I went to the track.Now I notice everytime I let go the clutch and ease forward,even very EZ I will hear a squeaking and kinda like thugging noise,do your think this is the symptom of the bad motor mount? I own the car for 5 months with 5k miles and only go to the track 3 times and run 32 runs total.

Well I don't know yet if it was the mount or something,that's why I asked.But I did run 3 runs with 14.47,14.44,and 14.42 damn almost went into 14.3. OT,sorry guy for posting it here.How do you guy post your time on the 1/4 mile Forum with your second and third times?Cause it wouldn't allow me to add reply to it.Thanx! Yeah with just an Intake and removed crushed bend B pipe.
