1st time at track

i went to gainesville raceway last night. they had $15 to run all night long till 11. i have a 2k2 se auto stock. it was 70 degrees outside and i left my car stock everything, with the radio and a/c on along with my system in the trunk. my 1st run fo the day was a 15.16@91.72. i left my car in 3 each time i raced and i just easd the gas at the start. my best run was a 15.006@92.51 on that run i brake torqued to 1000 and eased the gas. i wanted 14's but im happy with my times considering everything was stock. i have multiple videos of me beating a friend in his stock wrx with his spare tire out. ill get the vids soon and show them. i had an awesome time at the track and wanted to share. oh btw my 60' was 2.309 on the 15.006 run and2.377 on my 1st run. i ran 6 times total.

Wait you ran each run with the a/c on? That without a doubt killed some performance. Otherwise the car probably would've ran 14.8-15.0s with a 2.2x 60's.

actually on my 15.006 run i did not and on a run i had a 15.2 i did not either, but i still ran a 15.2. so i think the launch is way more impt than the a/c being on.

i wanted to see what my car runs just as if im on the street. its useless to take out your spare tire and stuff unless you dont ride with that on the street. our cars are not that fast enough imo to do that stuff.

Don't ever have the A/C on, even if it's 100 degrees outside. Getting unwanted moisture on the track will get you kicked out...and it'll **** people like me, who have a hard enough time with tractions as it is...

slick, not fast enough ? im willing to bet i close in on 14.3 by mid october, should we not run or be competitive unless we are under 13.9 ?

I respect your opinion. I suppose the Maxima is all I have for now, and to win some races and have fun I personally do everything i can to win/get best times. Sure there are many cars faster than us, but there are many slower as well.

Example: Big Pickup trucks .. these guys are great with their high 16 second runs but they still let down their tailgates on runs ?? ha ! and thats worse than some of us gutting the trunk! ha ha !

again, you may be right ..but im still looking for an advantage and hauling groceries down the track with granny will not cut it . granny and the goods have got to sit on the sidelines.

another interesting thing even for me is that . this is all a learning experience for me. one day I hope to have a car thats fast enough without taking seats out, and gutting the trunk .. what knowledge I gain here I will carry to the next level. Now how fast is fast ? I dont know really but I im guessing now 13.9 and below feels good !

In all honesty I wonder if there is a more exciting car to race. a modded maxima is a great sleeper. whats the new rx8 running or rated at 14.5 at 96 mph. imagine spanking one of those in the 1/4 mile in an old the 4th gen max ..now thats fun ! What i mean is you expect to get slapped around by a corvette but not a Maxima.

anyways just a bunch of small talk .. im going to keep on keep on working with what I have no matter how slow that may be. But even at this speed there is a certain level of enjoyment that makes all this fun dont you think? With or without the spare !

I gave up bad habits a while back and finally found something in the sober world thats great fun !
