Steering wheel discolouration: how to clean?

So I took off the leather on my steering wheel cause it was falling apart... and slaped on some cheap-o wheel cover... my question is how do I remove the discolouration left over from the glue/adhesive/residue that was used on the leather??? It left a sort of brownish colour .

I'd say no on the cotton ball. I'd also try to use Goo Gone or some similar adhesive remover product.

If the cotton ball is adequately soaked with the nail polish remover it shouldn't leave any fuzzies behind.

Thanks for the input guys... I'll try it out next weekend, and let you know how it went.

That's exactly how it starts ... first a rip on the top... then along the 4 pieces that connect the wheel to the centre piece... then it just looks too ugly and you have no choice but to either rip it off/replace it/put a cover on it . Good luck in the junk yard though... I remember hearing that the 240sx wheels were quite similar.

You might also want to consider Wheelskins.

I wish more of the JDM cars had cruise control. There are always lots of steering wheels that will fit our cars on ebay (if a 240sx wheel will fit, then most of them should, too) but none of them have cruise control.

I guess because they don't have many freeways over there and it's so crowded, no one uses cruise.
