does anyone here have contacts in taiwan? well, I saw a turbo kit for the cefiro....and coilovers....in a taiwanese car magazine.
turbo kit is made by garrett...turbo comes with the exhaust manifold in the kit and from my half-a$$ chinese...(mah-li...horsepower is increased by 30 - 40% and torque is about 10 - 20%. kit comes with intercooler and piping...etc...but...

wonder how it'd affect us US-spec "obd program" cars.

well, the number for the shop in taiwan is 02-29710569
or 06-5718987-8.

I think it all depends on what engine the Cefiro has in ->

taiwan. I believe it's a 4 cylinder. Turbo kit for 4 cyl. won't do us any good =)

all I30(cefiro) in taiwan comes with VQ30DE. there aren't 4cylinder cerfiros in taiwan, in Japan cefiro comes with VQ20DE or VQ25DE motor.

TCLEE: I'll call those shops, and post more info later!

i just called those shops

well, the kit cost $15000 taiwan money which is about ($5000US) including labor.
here is wut you get:
intercooler
injectors
AFC
turbo exhaust manifold
boost pips
BOV
boost controller
T25 turbo
fuel pump
FPR
fuel rail

there won't be a "Computer upgrade" since there is no engine work involved. AFC will do all the work for you. The owner of the shop is interested in a "US Group Deal". LOL. so anyone????

Re: i just called those shops

Hmm...$5000 including labor is not bad =) The kit itself is probably around $4000. If we can just import the kit and install it here in the US. I bet all parts are custom.

Tclee - Where did you get the chinese magazine? Maybe I can get a copy and read up on it =)

First of all, $15000 does not equal to $5000 US, it's more like $500 US, and are you sure about the Turbo Kit is for V-6 engines, cuz my friends in Taiwan told me that a lot of ppl drive 4 cylinders Cefiro in Taiwan????????

Not a lot of ppl would buy V-6 since it's the same body style and look, taiwanese only care about looks never Power(they dont' need it anyway)!!!!

i think someone looked into the Tein coilovers made for the Cefiro and it didnt work for the Max. About that turbo kit, sounds interesting, but i doubt it would work for a US Spec engine....

well.....the I30s in taiwan they were made in US, cuz taiwan can't have a direct import/trade from japan. all the Japanese cars in taiwan they were all made in US or Korea.

i'll call them again today, try to get some picture and more info on it.

Okay... here is some answer hopefully clear up your questions:

Coilovers... They have coilovers made by NISMO/JP... cost around U$1500-$2000+
Turbo kits are for 2.0 V6 Cefiro motors..(VQ20DE) last time I checked. I do not recall any turbo kit (direct bolt-on for VQ30DE)

Btw, those whom think in Japan that has VQ30DET... that's correct... however it's RWD, and won't fit our Maxima/I30 in the US.. unless you do lots, and LOT$ of work...

In TW, there are only two type of CEFIRO engines
1996-2000 (looks similar to US I30 96-99)
VQ20DE
VQ30DE (same as US spec/ 4th gen)

2000.5+
They have the same engine as the US maxima/i30..... but only 220hp...

I hope this answer your questions..

There are NO I30's in TW. There are Cefiro's which is identical/similar to I30.
NO, they are not Made in US nor Korea. They are manufactured and assemebled in Taiwan by its domestic Auto maker Yulon Motors.

The one's made in Korea are only sold in KOREA.. called SM520 or something.. made by SAMSUNG.. (at least the proto type were)... it's a bit different then the maxima..

http://www.samsungmotors.co.kr/

newer SM5's (I think these are similar to 2000+ Maxima's??)

If there are Coilovers for Cefiro (1996-2000) in Taiwan, then YES. they will fit the Maxima/I30 in the US (4th Gens)

Well, I have another question: Since we can't directly fit the VQ30DET engine in our Maximas, how about just getting a few of the parts(ie; turbo manifold and intercooler piping)? Wouldn't that work?

That's what i was thinking japanese cars that sell in Taiwan are made in Korea????WTF I know for Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, that they sell in Taiwan, there are two versions of it, one is called domestic and the other is made by US called Imports. And Yes there is no way you can get cars that are made by Japan due to trade policy.(not sure about now) But how about those Lexus in Taiwan???Arent' they made in Japan?????

And I heard that for 2000+ maxima that sell in Taiwan, it only comes with AUTOMATIC version of it..No Stick is available so, we are kind of lucky to have stick as options!!!!!

And why are 2000+ maximas in Taiwan only have 220hp????

well, well well, here we go, I thought so too
any coil-over kit for V-6 engine Cefiro in Taiwan????I guess not since the car is so expensive in Taiwan(cost around 35K US), if you can afford it, you are probably some old *** man, i dont' think young kid would buy V-6 Cefiro in Taiwan if they had money anyway!!!!!!!

BTW, the Tein Coil-Over for Cefiro in Japan (A31) Will not fit on US Maximas!!!!!
