New Mods = New Pics

Today was a lazy day so I figured what better to do than AE headlights and corner lights as well as my Black Chrome Gen 2 Altezza's.

Altezza's went on easy, but I need opinions on how they look. I've seen them on Hunter Green Maximas before and I really liked them but now that they are on my car I can't quite decide. I've been attached to my red/clears for a while but I like the way the LED's update the rear end of the car and how well they match the spoiler (didn't get a pic of that tho).

AE headlights were way easier than I anticipated. Corner lights were a little trickier (a little more tedious) but, if you've done the red/clear tail mod, you can do the AE headlight mod. I don't think enough people take advantage of this relatively free mod as it really adds a bit more aggressiveness to the car. And specifically in my case, it really helps tie in the tinted bumper lights.

Sprints and Illumina's will come to replace Eibach's and Tokico Blue's in ~2 weeks depending on shipping time and such. Then the dent in the drivers quarter panel gets fixed and a full detail. After that it might be a shift **** or something to spice up the interior ... not terribly sure yet. I'll definitely have more pics once all that is done. As usual, rims take a back seat as $1200 isn't easy to come by right now.

Let me know what you think ...

To be honest, I do not like those altezzas. I think red/whites would look better on your car. Your car other than that looks really clean/tasteful. I like that eibach drop. Why are you switching from eibach to sprints?

Ehh, not to bad joel, cant decide whether or not i like them. I mean, their not ugly, but then again their not hot. They'll probably grow on me as usual...

As for the headlights, looks good, esp on a darker color car as yours. Cant really tell if you tinted the corner lights. Still deciding if i wanna go the route and tint the lights...If i do decide to, you up for helping me out again ?

I think your rims will pull it all together depending on how aggressive you want your car to look. Some dark colored rims would make it look very staunch.......

I think they look really good on your car, different in a good way - not ricey at all.

Like someone said, the Altezzas look good on the car but tinting everything makes the wheels stand out. Darker wheels will bring the whole car together. I like them (the tails) though, and they're definitely worth the price at night when you see those two rings. If I had a dark-colored car I definitely would have bought a set by now. Love the headlight work too.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm giving the tails a few weeks to see if they grow on me or not. The wife loves them, strange enough.

To whoever mentioned chrome, that's the opposite direction than I want to go. After talking with 99Maxima5sp (eric), I really need to go with some Hyperblack rims to tie everything in. I really hope to be able to get some rims in the next 6 months ...

As far as why I'm changing from Eibach ... it's because of the uneven drop I got with them. I may just end up putting Sprints in the front b/c my drop in the rear with Eibach is nice and low - the front just sits up about .5-.75 inches higher. We'll see how it goes when I do the swap. I'm going to do the fronts first and see how it looks.

Lastly .. the headlights will look much better once I get HID's

IMO, with the rosewood color, your max looks hella clean with the gen 2's. Keep them, they look awesome, especially during the day. If the brake light color matches the spoiler at night, then you've definatly got my vote.

Car looks great. Keep the altezzas on cause we all know how it looks at night. BTW i think this is the first time ive seen this many people appluading altezzas......
And what is so uneven about the drop? It looks about the same to me from that side pic you included. I can see that there might be a bit more of a drop in the back, but it might be attributed to that 15" sub your selling......that is if you had it in the max.
Im looking into getting springs and eibach were my #1 choice until i heard people complaining about the uneven drop....

I faded this picture out on purpose so that you can see the top of the tires and the bottom of the wheel well but this shows the uneven drop. It's much more noticable in person.

And I agree ... I've never seen so many people say they like Altezza's in one thread.

I normally don't care for the Altezza's at all but for once I do think they look rather nice on your color car. Make sure to show us pic's when you get the rims at let us know if you stuck with the altezza's.

I think the second Gen tail lights would look good on your car. You did a good job all around. The changes were minor but shows off the car nicely.

If you really like the headlights, go ahead and do the corner lenses as well next to the headlights. For a long time I rolled like you have yours now, but I decided to go a step further and do the corner lens next to the headlight. It looks really mean when it's black and matches the heads. You might photo shop it and see if you like it.

Already done. Can't see it real well because 1. that pic isn't at the right angle and 2. I don't think I painted enough of the body (housing). I only painted the very outer portion but because they are not headlights. I should have painted a little more of the lens body - not like it has to project light outward.. That's okay ... maybe someday I'll add to it now that I know what I'm doing.

They're not made for 95-96's as far as I know. I got mine used from someone local.

I think your car looks sick. I don't think you even need any new rims in my opinion. I don't see why people don't like the SE rims. I think they look good. The alzettas are looking good. I love your car.

Actually I used "Night Shades" on the outside of the lens after wet sanding it. Then I applied a few coats of clearcoat to protect the finish. Frankly they need to be re-done and I may just have the body shop re-do them for me when they do the quarter panel.

I stil can't get over all the nice compliments. Thanks guys!

I think maybe the 4th gen community is re-thinking Gen2's?

I love those Gen-2's..... Dont think they have them for the 95's yet do they?

But......if you really aren't too thrilled with them....why not do the Skyline Altezza mod to them?? That would really make it all blend and still give you that LED look.

AE lights look real good.

IMHO, though, the circles at night are not worth the way they look in the day time.
