Just recently replaced my knock sensor and felt improvements, but at times, i realize that my alpine headunit has reseted by itself (meaning all the preset stations have gone back to default). I didnt think much of it, but as i backed in my driveway, my car just...died. I cranked it back up and started fine, but seems like it just had total power loss.


should i have reseted my ECU after replacing knock sensor? What could have caused this? Bad battery? i replaced my battery last January...

check for codes? check your battery terminals? did you disconnect your battery btw when you changed your knock sensor? if so, then that would explain why all your presets are gone.

 

Go to AutoZone or another auto store and have them test your battery and alternator.
