Is my transmission hosed?

Ok, I am scared to death that my tranny is on its way out again. I just had it rebuilt last year this time. Since the rebuild, I routinely checked the fluid levels about every other month and the levels were fine, however I didnt have the fluid flushed

This past weekend I was driving down 87 south with 3 friends (combined weight 700lbs +) in the car and the tranny felt like it began to slip a little in overdrive. I recognized the slippage from last year when my tranny went. After I noticed the problem I didn’t push the car AT ALL!! When I got home I checked the tranny fluid again and it was ok, however id smelt a little burnt. I also looked for metal residue but there was none.

So here is my dilemma. I was planning on going to Maximumtuning to get the VB mod done with a tranny cooler. But now I am not sure if my tranny is hosed I really hope not!!

Today I tried to push the car a little to see how it would perform (very little) and it seemed ok. Could it be that my neglect for flushing the tranny fluid and running the car hard caused it to loose its lubricating properties which is caused the slippage?

My plans right now are to bring the car to Jeff next week to have the VB mod done if he says it is ok. Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gil

sounds like a plan. just add some lubegard red bottle whenever you change the fluid. it helps keep temps down and extend the fluid life.
