there is a button on the left side of the dash that says cruise control - push it in and the green light in the middle of the button should come on

now you get up to desired speed and press the set button on your steering wheel (cruise control will work from about 25-95), green light near your speedo will come on and cruise control is set. Turn it off by pressing cancel switch on steering wheel or hitting the brake or clutch pedal.

While cruise is set, you can press the accel button to increase the speed by 1mph or hold it down. Press the coast button to decrease your speed.

If you have cruise set, hit your brake and turn off cruise, you can go back to your set speed by just hitting the resume button on the steering wheel and it'll take the car back up to the speed where it was set before.

Sometimes my cruise control doesn't work.

I'll push the button and the try to push the set button on the steering wheel and it won't work.

If I fiddle with it for a little I can trick it into working. Like if I push the button on the left and then quickly push the set button it'll work.

Got any suggestions as to what I can do?

Check steering wheel contacts are actually making proper contact. If okay, pull the steering wheel switch out & clean up contacts. Possibly a cruise control ecu problem, but intermittent fault suggests otherwise.
