Front Corner lights

On the Front corner lights that are connected to the headlights, do you just have to get new bulbs to get rid of that crapped out yellow haze, or is it the glass cover?

I have the same problem... it looks so uglee... I have mtec bubls for both the main lights and the foglights as well as clear turn signal casings and no matter what bulb (currently using Polarg's) I put in the corner lights, it still has a yellow haze so I'm guessing it's the casing as I see it on all maximas, even hooked up ones. There is a way to brighten the bulbs up in there though... I have never tried it but I plan to in the future... This is copied and pasted from the FAQ here....

This mod is very simple, but since theres tons of different writeups on it out there, and lots of rumors, it can be confusing. But this is a great way to help your Max look better. Here goes:

Stuff you need: Phillips head screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, nailclippers, electrical tape

1)Remove your clearance light housing. It's pretty simple, just pop the hood and remove the screw that holds it in. With a little bit of tugging, you can pull the side closest to the doors (not the front side) out (it goes behind a little plastic flap). look down into the hood and find the little ball joint socket that holds the clearance light in. take a screwdriver (flathead) and pop it out of that socket. there the light is out.

2)Remove the bulb from the light by twisting it and pulling it out. Place the clearance light housing onto the ground.

3)In your hand you should have the bulb in socket connected to the wires for it. The bulb can be removed from its socket by being twisted and then pulled out. do so now.

4)Look at the bulb closely. On the metal base (below the glass) you can see two metal "nubs." Take fingernail clippers and snip the one CLOSEST TO THE GLASS (the higher one).

5)Cut a strip of electrical tape about 2 inches long and 1/4 inch high. Wrap this tape around the spot where the nub was so that it covers the spot (but not the other nub). This is to ensure a secure connection in the socket.

6)Look down into the socket of the bulb. You can see two notches where the nubs were to be secured (one for the higher nub and one for the lower nub). The bulb, however, now has only one nub (the lower one). Heres the tricky part: you want to put the bulb in so that the lower nub (the remaining one) goes in the spot that the higher nub was supposed to (dont worry if the electrical tape gets pushed a bit).

7) Now that the bulb is back in socket, replace the socket in the housing but dont put the housing back on yet. Flip your lights on to make sure that the job worked (I haven't seen it fail when you use electrical tape). Once your confident that it worked replace the housing (make sure its in there!).

8)Repeat on other side.

I had the same problems, so I just put amber bulbs in there. Looks pretty cool now. You have to make sure to use the same kinds of bulbs in the clear corner bumper lights for blinker though. You don't want them to clash.
I like the way it turned out. Looks really agressive.

man.....
my clearcorners are as clear as can be. No yellow look to them.

And all that the buld clip mod does is to make the light stay bright all the time as opposed to just becoming brighter when you use your blinker......

I didnt even have to clip the nub on my bulbs.

i tried those instructions...clipped the high nub and flipped the bulb over so the the lower one ends up where the higher one was and it ended up not going in. the bulb would just stick out and barely touches the bottom of the socket and it doesn't work. so i went ahead and cut the other side off and wrapped it with electric tape hoping that it may stay in cuz it's fatter now...but it won't....it pops rite back out. wat am i doing wrong?

Yup, went in. Had to push it in slowly and twist it until it was in the correct position. Wasn't very hard at all. I tried it on some cheap blue bulbs first cuz the Polarg's cost money... <=oP The blue bulbs were bright but I didn't want to catch a ticket so I put in the Polargs. I'll take pics tonight and post it asap.

I will try to post some pics of my parking lights with the amber bulbs in tomorrow if I can. I have not had much chance to do that(plus I don't have a digital camera), but a friend of mine has a camera and I will try to upload them.

The bulbs are cheap...like $3 for 2 of them...that is why I just tried them out. So what if they mess up or you don't like them. Right?

i've done orange bulbs before and i liked them but now that i've changed my signals to orange and my headlights to xenon color, i've changed the cornering lights to xenon as well but the cornering light sucks...it's mixed with blue and yellow so it's almost green. I would change them bak to orange but i wouldn't want too much orange. so...
