1989 Maxima front/side indicators no blinky

Trying this again...
Apparently my last post did not make it.
Just purchased 89 Maxima and for some reason when turn signals are activated, only the very front work, but not the side markers. also it is if the white side lights go to high beam. Is this normal or do I have a short somewhere?
I HAVE SEARCHED...but found nothing.

I am very familiar with these forums. I am actively involved with a Mercedes Diesel forum and hope to be just as active in this one!

Thanks in advance!

So the amber side lights are not actually supposed to blink...just the ones on the very front of the bumper?

Thanks for the response!

That is correct. Oddly enough, the side markers don't blink; however, you can rewire them to do so. This was a major oversight on Nissan's part, IMO. From the side, you can't tell what the driver is going to do. That is one of the reasons that I want to install aftermarket side marker lights in front of the doors. However, I may just rewire the front and rear side marker lights to accomplish what I think they should do.

Also the reason the corner light go bright is because it is a turning light. Which ever blinker you turn on that turning light comes on so you can see where your turning.
