why not? its the same bolt pattern no?

They have a diffrent offset, that won't work with the Maxima.

If it rubs, then I'd call that "non-fitting". What you're saying is, you can mount it. Yay. You could probably mount 20x10 wheels on there too, but that doesn't mean it will actually work.

The first problem would be getting some for less than the cost of perfectly fitting volk, work, advan, etc.

Yes. R34 comes with Nismo LMGT4 I believe, which can be bought in Maxima-friendly offsets...

*edit* In terms of offsets, you'd probably be looking for something in the +35 to +45 range.
