gas needle quickly falls to zero and then goes back to normal...?!?!

i just swapped out my gauges for stock gauges because i had trouble with my old ones and i was sick of indiglo. i also put se faces on the cluster and put in blue led's so it's reverse indiglo. anyways, aside from the other problem that my gas gauge isn't calibrated properly...

whenever i hit a big or moderate size bump in the road, say i'm going 65 or whatever, it goes back to zero then usually jumps back to the right speed really fast after a second. almost like it loses catch, then fixes itself. anyone have any idea for a fix?? would be much appreciated. thanx
