-=≡ Just Stiched My Own Leather Shift Boot ≡=-

Lets try this again and see if the server will post it and not just the thread title.

I just got done stiching my own leather shift boot. Th factory vinyl one was cracked and torn.

Man, it was so easy.

All i did was rip out the stock shift boot's threads, trace the outline onto paper, and then trace that onto some gray/black leather. Then just take a decent sized needle and some stretch nylon thread (none of the stiching will show + its stronger than cotton). I used some needle nose pliers to pull the needle out of the leather after i had pushed it part way through. You will understand why if you try this.

I had some calf skin laying around from when my grandmother owned some country/western stores and decided to use that.

It feels great and looks great.

I plan on making a E-Brake cover very soon.

This is very simple to do if you know how to sew.

I went with a simple style. I also like this because the shift boot matches the color of my interior and i didnt have to spend any money on it.

You could do this with any material you wanted to.

All you need to do is create a pattern that you want and then stitch it up.
