can u guys give me an estimate price on an used 5 speed transmission for my 95 MAX and could u also give me an estimate price on rebuilting my transmission

All we can tell you is how much it cost us, so for me, it was 2250 for tranny, labor, rear main seal, and waranty. clutch was additional 300.

 

Go to www.car-part.com...I found one for 450$...three month warranty...labor was 200$.

 

tranny itself can be had for a few hundred bucks. You have to shop around though, not just in your state...

 

Sold my used one for $500. Bought a busted one for $200. $800 for a complete rebuild. $200-$300 for swap.

 

my rebuild cost $1100, and i pulled the tranny out myself so only paid bench labor. the cheapest locally found tranny for me was the same price. i found others (both used and rebuilt) cheaper but far away, so there would be shipping costs, and if that tranny failed even under warranty, where would i take it? i felt better with a local warranty from a shop that came reccommended.
