Anyone have a 2.5" straight pipe?

Well I have had a straight pipe going from my 3rd cat all the way to the muffler. The pipe is 2.5" thats 1/4" bigger than stock.

I noticed that the car backfires a lil bit and i lost some low end torque.

The car is alot louder now but that is because I have no resonator.

Anyone know how I can get the car to stop backfiring and gain some of my low end torque back?

we did help. you asked "Anyone know how I can get the car to stop backfiring and gain some of my low end torque back?"
we said "take the pipe off" .
you arent getting anything but negative from it so why be stubbord and leave it on.

from what i've heard from other people with the Custommaxima straight pipe is that there is little sound increase (with 1 exception). They have the resonator though. I hope I dont get raspyness when I install mine on sunday...

If you want your low end tq back, get a custom turbo

It was custom made in front of me at an exhaust shop.

He took a long @ss 2.5" pipe and bent it in the right places and just welded it on from thr 3rd cat to the muffler.

You don't have any backpressure to begin with, so how could you possibly gain any back?

When you installed the 2.5" test pipe, you just shifted the TQ/HP up further in the RPM range...you didn't actually lose it. Using a 18" resonator would solve the backfiring noise, but it still won't help get the power to "shift" lower in the RPM band...

that POS bent pipe is costing you more than u thought it would
Always keep your oem parts ( dont let a muffler shop keep your shyt- they sell it to a junkyard and make money on your shyt)

Now you have to pay for a resonator which cost a good buck

And when u do that now the muffler shop has to cut the pipe they bent for you -perfectly so that your exhaust lines up right- on top of that they are gonna have to weld the pipe to the res
