RedlineMax Update: Prototyping Front Bumper and Sideskirts this week...
It's official, the last m-front bumper has new home in Texas (coming off my Max). I'm back to stock+Stillen lip
Largely due to its overwhelming success, we're working on v2 m-front bumper (version 2) and test fitted Altima Evo2 Sideskirts this week. The Altima Evo2 sideskirts will be modified this week until we're satisfied with the appearance. No pictures will be released until they are ready for production. Customers are always welcome to stop by my shop this week to catch a glimpse of these prototypes.
Our philosophy is quality and fitment first, design will follow.
Ideas, suggestions, advice are welcome...
Estimated release date will be in early Spring 2004.

The sideskirts look hideous on the Max because we need to modify it.
The Altima Evo3 skirts kinda look like Sadler's custom sideskirts, big and boxy looking. We're working on changing that look.
Dex: You suck too.. where's my pricelist?

Yes, the products will be fiberglass.. they are easier to modify, less expensive to make mold/produce and faster turnaround in production time. You know why too

Mr.SuspensionTofuShop: I think I want to go with 540-type rear bumper.. We're working on the front and sideskirt designs right now, the rear bumper will take a bit longer to prototype. -AnGe
I am not going to rant and rave and jack your thread, but work on adjusting your molds and making sure it is not still hot when you lay them on a rack to dry because the 2 that I had in my possession were both severly warped.
You may want to design something that incorporates the easy fitament of a stillen front lip on the side pieces, because what you did with the first m-bumper didn't work. From what I saw, I have the best fitting m-bumper and it cost me over $900 working on the 2 bumpers.

Ever thought of making a kit for the 5th gen. We can't get anybody to make a decent looking kit for our cars. Our last shot wanted 100 people and we can't get that many people.

Jason Sadler: If you were thoroughly dissatisfied with it, you could have returned both bumpers in your possession untouched. Yes you would have to pay shipping, I could of worked something out with you (as I did with the one bumper that you returned to me). Instead, you opted to paying whatever your installer wanted to charge you.
You returned one bumper to me, which was sold to a customer in Easton, PA. He has absolutely no fitment problems with the bumper. If you'd like to speak with him, PM me and I will gladly give you his contact number.
Anyone who attempted to repair or modify urethane material knows the difficulty involved. It is highly difficult to modify stock front bumper and Stillen lip (urethane) and make it look like anything else, let alone an m-front bumper. Please do not speculate.

And when it came down to it, I had to use the bumper, we had talked about this.. I am not going to get into it like I said, just a friendly beware for everyone out there.
And I just remembered I had this picture saved from the other thread.. this is fitting?

I did notice the same thing on Ange's car at the NJ meet in June, the gap where the bumper wraps over the fender, about 1/2"-3/4" gap.
At the meet we had around here in september I saw one that was molded and thats the only one Ive seen that didnt have the gap.

It is SO easy to get rid of imperfections once you mold a bumper on, but what a waste of money if you drive the car daily and have to repaint the bumper every 4-6 months.
The problem I have with my car is that there is no gap on the sides (due to extensive work), but now it is started to get stress cracks along the part that wraps over the fenders. Never ending issues with this bumper, besides physical defects.

thats what I was saying, the only ones Ive seen fit well were molded, and most people dont want mold the kit on, exactly for the reason you described, and I wouldnt trust most shops to do it right anyway.

how many times this happened before? one person takes one side before the other party comes out and discuss what happened. seriously this is an issue between the vendor and the customer. people complain about lacking parts...now u have it and want it to fit like OEM.
thread is about redlinemax making a new bumper cover for the 4th gen..not to gripe about past experience...take it up to the delaership/vendor experience for that BS.
hey bijan, I think Jason is more than capable of holding his own in this conversation.
there's really no need for you to come out swinging in a fight (the term "fight" used analogically) you're not involved in.

What would be amazing is a urethane sarona sides/rear and a shortened M type front bumper that can fit properly... If you were to 'squish' the entire design up vertically where the 'big mouth' portion would become thinner and the cutouts for the fogs are skinnier that would look much better... It looks kind of funny unless you have a big IC behind it IMHO... As well, a lot of us have dropped rides, and don't want to have to repaint every second day so ground clearance would be great as well...

Danny - true that....he just seemed pretty upset.
Mchne - I'm not swinging at anyone
- Yea, I didnt buy an M-bumper...but I DO know what happened to Jason CAN happen to someone else. I'm not gonna argue and ***** up this thread though.

or they may stop making em (destroy the molds, so the first edition would be worth more instead of less) They could continue the two styles, but i dont think they would. Smoothmax has a hot car... the m bumper is just all around hot
well as for any dealer/shop there is always where products arent to the satisfaction of the customer. Ange is doing an excellent job for the org members. After all we all learn from experience and move one. That is the process that will never change. Ange from my opiinion has done a fantastic job. Her customer service is impeccable. If your not happy, she will do anything in her powers to try to help someone out. I always appreciate those who help you, and those who take care of you. Keep up the work ange.. and btw if you need a 3rd gen to start something you can use mines and start to developing stuff for the olfer maxima 89-94
since i am in nyc i really can get away with out a max for weeks

Is the new m-bumper going to be fiberglass again?

if you dont know the whole story (or have talked to Ange) don't fight someone elses fight.
