ok...I have searched for the answers but I still haven't gotten an answer. My cruise control has stopped working. Whenever I turn it on, it just flashes at me. I have been reading about speed sensors as a possible problem. My CEL hasn't tripped. The cruise control stopped working about a year ago and then it started working in the summer but one day it quit again and that's been about 3 months ago.

I have replaced the steering wheel switch, the on/off switch. could it be the cruise control module?

This happened to me in my 89 legend..I went to a dealer wanted to charge me a $100 just to check it out..someone informed me b4 I pay anyone, simply try adjusting your brake pedal..sometimes if it touching your brake light switch, this will automatically cancel your cruise control..I tried this and cruise started to work again.

 

You need to get wiring diagrams and start checking stuff. I had the cruise go on my '87 max and it turned out a little pad on the brake that pushed a switch had crumbled so it no longer depressed the swtich. Could be anything.

 

true but it blinking makes me wonder. I turn it on and it just blinks.
