Cattman Headers and y pipe?

Ive been doing some research on headers and a y pipe i see that the biggest gain is from the y pipe.. But what would be the reason to replace jus the y pipe and not the headers? Isnt ur exhaust the biggest as ur smallest pipe? So ive read that the cattman y pipe matches up with the stock headers for about 350 bucks... or u can get cattman headers and a cattman y pipe for 750 + 20 for tools. is it worth it?

Well my understanding is that the Y-Pipe gives you the best bang for the buck, I know my car felt alot different when I installed mine. And yes your is exhaust is only as good as the smallest piping. I believe adding the headers would give you some gains, BUT the debate begins as to how much power is gained. I have failed to see any dyno results or hear of any big gains.

The cattman headers will only give you about 5-7 HP over the Y pipe. So yeah most of the gains come from the Y pipe.
The reason you would want to buy this is for future upgrades like boost. I'm sure these headers will give more HP to boosted maximas that NA. So I guess if you really don't mind spending that much for a little more HP go for the headers. They are also long headers so you will no longer need your aftermarket Y pipe if you have one.
I have a cattman Y pipe and will be selling it once I get headers, which is a long time from now

that is really not true. I have the stock cat-back and cat and run respectable numbers.

You won't notice big of the difference by replacing headers on the maxima.

actually nobody knows for sure. There has not been a good dyno done between cattman headers and a Y-pipe on the same car. I tend to believe that there are more gains then people like you are saying.
