It's actually the EXACT opposite. When using metals like Mild Steel or Cast Iron you'll notice they conduct up to 219% more heat. Meaning, Mild Steel or Cast Iron generally needs alot of shielding and some sort of coating to help dissapate the heat better. Stainless steel in its natural condition acts as a form of coating to help with heat retention. So basically, its pointless to coat them, but wrapping is good either way.

that looks like a nice turbo exhaust manifold... one question:

don't we have 3 ports per side on our engines? how is the piping for this from the other side of the engine?

Yes, when the time comes we will offer a deal for one lucky individual whos serious about turbocharging his car .

The manifolds merge to a collector, which then merge together into another collector powering the turbocharger.

*Watch out for our header package *

I still don't get the piping on this, are you'll going to be using a reverse y-pipe on this? The diameter of the pipes are huge. The picture with the turbo, the manifold aren't even installed. So your going go down meet in the middle under the engine and then back to the turbo? Where is the wastegate going to be placed. I needs to be placed where all 6 manifolds meet to get the most accurate reading.

SSR, few questions as being a fellow turbocharged member. Where exactly is the turbo sitting? To me it looks like it is sitting way near the bottom of the car (as opposed to most of us who have it near the hood). Then my question is the shot you have of it test mounted, the inlet for the compressor looks like it is touching the frame or is that perception from the shot?

Do you got more pics to show how it is mounted and how the piping is going? Im having a hard time understaning how the piping is going. Im not trying to cop your design (not that I can since Im a 3.0L V6) I just want to get a better understand as some others do as how you are running it differently compared to others.

From the looks of the headers it looks like a TT? Coming from someone who knows little about turbo's. Here's a question though, is the weight of the turbo going to be hung on the piping or is it going to be supported by bracketry to the engine?

Try and fit a turbo near the rear manifold.

I already know about the room issue, its a dead horse. However, why don't you come up with an epifany(sp) and share with us how you think the piping will run. I was giving a guess from the appearence of such short mani's. Like i said i don't know much about turbo's, so maybe i can be schooled on how the set up might look like for a 'single' turbo setup.

Dude, did you read the post? He said he's almost ready to test fit a 3.5L Maxima. How the hell can they have a dyno if they haven't even test fitted everything?

Price is TBA, keep in mind this is a complete kit inlcuding all fuel components (including fuel return) Fuel Pressure Reg. and Injectors.

The piping is going to be in a V Configuration, where the Turbo will be at the bottom and the two manifolds will form a "V" Shape and merge into the turbo.

This should be actually available to the public in early January 2004

It's going to be a Single Turbo System, The single turbo sits under the battery tray.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes our RX-8 Kit is a masterpiece. Well all of our kits are. Hopefully in early 2004 you Maxima guys won't have to be N/A anymore

The Price is TBA, yes it will work with the Auto Tranny but unfortunately the Auto Cannot hold as much as the 6 speed. Install Price will vary upon shops but expect about 14-16 hours of labor, and expect to see it in early 2004

all that power to the front wheels makes this kit sound like an irrational endeavor. torque steer is pretty fierce as is.

You might want to read up about turbo's a bit... 5, 10 20... who cares... I'm sure if you wanted to, you could turn the boost up enough to blow your engine to hell, or OTOH, run a conservative 30hp increase @2-3psi (or whatever the numbers might be) .. thats the beauty of turbochargers.

They will most likely test the kit and determine how much power the engine can safetly take, and go from there.

Umm, I am sure it can take more on stock internals, it all coems down on how good of shape the car is in. Our maximas have pretty high compression, I think the 3.5's have a little lower compression but not by much.

Holy crap!! 8-10psi.
Most aftermarket usual only 6psi. 8-10psi would be a huge power increase.
I'd say at least 100whp/tq.

With all of our base kits we get the wastegate with the lowest or next to lowest spring setting, so it's usually 4-6PSI. It makes it so the turbos just barely in efficiency around 68-70%. Bumping up the boost to around 10-12 you should see more of a 74-76% efficiency range (more power). We are predicting about 100-110WHP gain at our standard boost setting. The motors have been proven to right around 450WHP, making all of your cars capable of low 12 Trap speeds. Christmas might be coming a little late but it will be well worth it

And some broken wrists and forearms from all the excess torque steer...
