Man I was driving home from the Bowling alley the other day then all of a sudden this Acura Cuts me off, One of my freinds from the Nissan Forums with me in the car and he started to laugh. Then We Line up at a lite and he ran the light. Well I said to my freind whatch this and then all the guy sees is my rear end about 2 cars in front of him. I stoped this race at around 70mph. Then again we line up at another light, I looked at the guy and he smiled. We both Churped off the line and I ended up about 2 cars in front of him b4 I hit 60, and then my freind to me to cut it off. The guy ended up turning on a No Turn on Red the next red light. OBTW were both auto,

My friend has a TL-S, I ran him once and he beat me by less than 1 car. He is auto and I am 5spd. It wasnt really fair race because I just started learning stick the week before and I couldnt shift too well. If I race him again I think I can take him. The 255hp is when it hits vtec at 6-6.5 rpms I think.

I think all he has is an intake, not sure whether auto or not. But I believe him. A few months ago I smoked a TL-S too, few days after the y-pipe. He chirped his tires and I had maybe 100ft to get in his lane. Well I got him soon enough so that my friend in his GTO got in front too. Maybe the guy wasn't trying or he messed up somehow cause he chirped the launch...

I don't think a 4th gen with just an intake can take a TL-S. I raced by buddy's TL and beat him while we were both stock, but if he had a TL-S I don't think I could have taken him. With a y-pipe maybe though.

tl or tl-s can be taken by a max. i believe that no matter what.

 

i dont think thats true... well possibly depends on the year of the TL cause i know my friend's TL can take me pretty bad.. both being stock and autos

 

A 95-99 5spd can take a TL-S through the 1/8th mile with a decent driver both stock. After that the Max is wheezing through the top of 3rd and the Acura is running it down with its VTEC top-end. 1/4 mile is about even and a driver's race but with an advantage to the TL-S because of greater auto consistency. But that's really pretty sad considering they have a 70 horsepower advantage.

 

yea TL-S is pretty heavy, think they are over 3500 pounds. Off the line they are toast but when that V6 kick in, i can tell they gotta be fast. slightly bigger engine, with V6. Ah, if 4th gens came equiped with VI's we wouldnt have to be scared of Vtec's .

My friend had a TL (not type S) and i used to give him crazy work. If my car was stock weight and i was a better driver at the time i would have taken him from rolls with ease but instead we stayed pretty close if not me slighly edging him.
